Events, Forums and Meetings

NASOG regularly organises and participates in events, forums and meetings to engage with members, stakeholders, and policymakers on key issues affecting specialist obstetricians and gynaecologists.

Past Events

Recent NASOG events have focused on advocacy, professional development, and industry collaboration. These include:

  • Private Obstetric Alliance Forum – A key event bringing together private O&G specialists to discuss the challenges facing private practice, including Medicare funding, workforce sustainability, and policy threats.

  • Meetings with Federal Politicians – NASOG has hosted discussions with the Federal Health Minister and MPs from all parties, advocating for private O&G funding, patient choice, and systemic reforms.

  • Webinars and Conferences – Covering emerging clinical and policy issues, these events provide updates on advocacy efforts, funding changes, and workforce developments.

Future Events

NASOG is planning expanded member engagement, including:

  • Australian Birth Forum 2025 – A major event where NASOG will lead discussions on the future of maternity care in Australia, advocating for safe, specialist-led models and highlighting the importance of private obstetrics.

  • Policy Roundtables – To develop strategies on Medicare reform and private practice sustainability.

  • Stakeholder Forums – Collaborating with other organisations to strengthen advocacy.

  • Annual Conference – Bringing members together to discuss the future of private O&G practice, with expert speakers and networking opportunities.

Through these events, NASOG aims to ensure its members remain informed, supported, and actively involved in shaping the future of their profession.
